BRITTICISMS: Hello → britticisms.tumblr.com

britticisms:

The idea that to write a character that happens to be black is to write about blackness is a problem that suggests the experience of a black person is so “wrapped” in their racial identity that it is unrelatable to the “average,” the “mass,” the “majority.” It is Otherness totally, completely. It…

A New Day (No, there aren't any zombies...yet) Update!

It’s been a while and I’ve been busy writing.

I write for five sites now: WhyNotIndie.com, Fanboybuzz.com, ToonariPost.com, ComicsCrux.com, and Talkingcomicbooks.com.

Why Not Indie: I write webcomics, comics, etc. spotlights as well as interview indie creators.

Fanboy Buzz: I write comic reviews and I do a column entitled Comicmanaics and in my column I do Classic Comic reviews comics must be before 2010 and Comicmaniac Spotlight where I interview folks in the comic book industry as well as nerds/geeks in the geek universe who are doing awesome stuff.

Toonari Post: I write music articles and review albums.

Comics Crux (launching in August): I review comics and I do a column entitled Journey Into Manga and Anime which is for people wanting to get into anime & manga as well as those who have been out of the loop (like myself).

Talking Comics: I write 1-2 reviews once a week and I do a column every 2 weeks entitled Character Spotlight.

I’m also working on my comic book ideas. I hired an artist for Necrocalia (http://necrocalia.tumblr.com/). His name is Steve R. Richardson and it’s slowly coming together. Slowly because my funds are limited, I’m writing the script and the entire series synopsis, and I’m busy with work and writing for the sites I listed above.  But it’s coming together. Necrocalia’s gonna be a webcomic but I hope to submit to a publisher in the future to get it published and in the comic book stores.

Okay so that’s what’s been going on right now.

Later!

“One of the biggest, and possibly the biggest, obstacle to becoming a writer — I’ve said this from a slightly different angle in another answer — is learning to live with the fact that the wonderful story in your head is infinitely better, truer, more moving, more fascinating, more perceptive, than anything you’re going to manage to get down on paper. (And if you ever think otherwise, then you’ve turned into an arrogant self-satisfied prat, and should look for another job or another avocation or another weekend activity.) So you have to learn to live with the fact that you’re never going to write well enough. Of course that’s what keeps you trying — trying as hard as you can — which is a good thing. As I started off saying, writing takes practise.” —

Robin McKinley, on advice to those who would like to be writers (via dinosaurjam)

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again… who doesn’t heart McKinley?

Hello! I’m looking for an artist to collaborate on a webcomic

I’m willing to pay though I am somewhat low on funds (where we could also ask for donations to help fund the comic).

Here’s the tagline:

Two female super soldiers who are genetically…
